Rock me baby, pezzo storico di uno dei più grandi Blues Man della nostra epoca.

Personalmente lo trovo un pezzo fantastico poi cantato ed accompagnato da quattro

chitarristi di una certa esperienza, tutto diventa ancora più emozionante,

non ci sono parole per definire il virtuosismo di questi quattro chitarristi,

consiglio solo di ascoltare queste chitarre meravigliose, diversificate solo dal suono

ma uniche nel dare emozioni forti.

Ibanttendomi in you- tube come faccio spesso, ho trovato un’altra coppia di chitarristi

fenomali in tutti generi, essendo due mattatori del palco.

Non stò a presentarveli perchè sn molto noti nel mondo della musica,

il pezzo è stupendo ed anche le loro chitarre,vi consiglierei di non perderlo.

Fra i tanti artisti stranieri,

voglio soffermarmi su un nostro connazionale,

grandissimo amante del suono classico della sua chitarra,

per me grande poeta nn che cantautore,

purtroppo lasciatoci prematuramente,

rimanendoci un bagaglio musicale ineguagliabile.

Per festeggiare la fine dell’anno, la mezzanotte del 31 dicembre i Radiohead hanno estasiato gli spettatori sintonizzati su Current TV, la rete americana fondata da Al Gore, con 52 minuti di spettacolo dal vivo: Scotch Mist. Quella che potete vedere nel video tratto da YouTube è “Bodysnatchers”, dell’ultimo album In Raimbows.

Il sito Onda Rock ha stilato la propria classifica dei dischi dell’anno scelti dalla redazione. Forse un po’ troppo “aeriforme”, effettivamente mi aspettavo qualcosa di diverso. Devo approfondire e grazie a LastFM sto ascoltando alcuni pezzi segnalati.

Solo per ascoltare uno strepitoso e semplicissimo pezzo del vecchio Ben tratto dal suo ultimo album Lifeline.

Che dire poi del legnetto del chitarrista degli Innocent Criminals? Mah… Poi ne riparliamo.

Questa invece è una versione unplugged che Harper ha realizzato in una camera d’albergo, simulando le persone che suonano i suoi pezzi caricandoli su YouTube. Certo la voce non l’avrò la stessa, però quasi quasi… La Martin è ancora quella del mio sfondo (vedi pagina Intro alla fine).

Xavier Rudd – un cantautore straordinario

Non so come ringraziare mio cugino per avermi segnalato quest’estate un musicista straordinario, che da allora non mi sono stancato di ascoltare. Xavier Rudd è un cantautore australiano polistrumentista a pieno titolo, in grado di padroneggiare divinamente chitarra, chitarra basso, slide guitar, percussioni, armonica e didgeridoo, uno strumento a fiato originario degli Aborigeni d’Australia; strumenti che suona spesso contemporaneamente essendo un one man band. Il suo genere spazia tra folk, blues, rock e reggae mescolati a volte con suoni del mare e del deserto australiano. Quattro sono gli album in studio sinora registrati a cui se ne aggiungono tre live.

In questo video tratto da YouTube, Rudd suona la chitarra slide, le percussioni battendo il piede su una spessa tavola di legno ed il didgeridoo. Buon ascolto!

José González, nazionalità svedese…

José González è nato a Gothenburg (Svezia) nel 1978 da genitori argentini. Nella sua musica si fondono folk e flamenco con un risultato unico e irresistibile. E’ un grandissimo musicista, dalle sonorità scarne e trascendenti al tempo stesso. Ascoltarlo è un piacere, ed i molti potrebbero lasciarsi ammaliare dal suo picking: dal folk al grunge al sadcore al pop al flamenco alla musica d’autore, ha un bacino potenziale d’ascolto amplissimo eppure è ancora troppo poco celebrato. Ingiustamente. Certo un bel culo da sfoggiare non ce l’ha.
Ha pubblicato due album: Veneer (2003) e In Our Nature (2007).
Un consiglio, ascoltatelo.
